Contraception activists have long argued that there is no such thing as late-term abortion despite their desire to support vote measures and expenses that would define killing babies until they were born. However, this week’s dissemination of that advertising was jeopardized when the New York Times published a letter praising the” Manhattan Planned Parenthood Will Stop Offering Abortions After 20 Month.”
New York allows abortion through all nine months of trimester as long as a health provider decides the girl is” not practical” or deems a person’s “life, physical wellbeing, or emotional health” at risk. Planned Parenthood’s Manhattan facility, but, may pause ending the lives of pregnant children also into and beyond the second trimester of pregnancy because the abortion giant’s cost cuts and closures across the Empire State mean it can” not longer afford the’ strong sedation’ required” to execute late-term abortions.
The NYT, which likely recognizes how unpopular butchering babies beyond 15 weeks is among Americans, tried to reassure readers that abortions beyond the halfway mark of pregnancy are rare, making up “less than 2 percent” of the New York Planned Parenthood’s facilities. The author also claimed that “abortions after that point are usually performed because , the fetus has a fatal condition , that could not be detected sooner or because the mother’s life is in danger”.
However, it is obvious that the article is intended to spout sympathy and provide an additional$ 13 million in taxpayer funding for the “30, 000 abortion visits” that New York’s planned-parenthoods make each year. The admission that the Manhattan facility was doing everything possible, including looking into in-house deep sedation as “offer abortions after 20 weeks” again in the future, is deeply ingrained in the narrative.
The willingness of the NYT to acknowledge late-term abortions contrasts stark with the corporate media’s record on second- and third-trimester abortions.
For years, abortion activists and their allies in the press have claimed that” There’s no such thing as a’ late-term abortion.'”
” It’s actually a completely made-up phrase that has no basis in medicine. It’s pure anti-abortion propaganda, intended to confuse people about when abortion happens”, the abortion giant and its activist arm insist.
Corporate media, which are all too willing to advance Democrats ‘ abortion extremism, issue fake fact checks asserting late-term abortion “does n’t exist” and is not a “real thing”. In addition, they pleaded with former president Donald Trump to make it clear during presidential debates that Democrats want to “take the life of a child in the eighth month, the ninth month, and even after birth.”
The NYT specifically claims that the term “late-term abortion” is simply” a phrase used by abortion opponents to refer to abortions performed after about 21 weeks of pregnancy,” and that it is not a valid medical definition.
This talking point, which comes straight from Planned Parenthood’s website and social media accounts, is a lie.
Medical journals publish articles that demonstrate that abortions that go beyond a certain point in a pregnancy, such as those that are 20 weeks, can be accurately classified as “late-term,” as well as dismemberment that goes beyond the halfway point.
When media outlets, including the NYT, finally acknowledge that pregnancy abortions take place, they rebut their criticisms by claiming that it is uncommon to kill babies during the second and third trimesters.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s most recent abortion findings do not include reports from all 50 states, despite the fact that current records indicate less than 1 % of abortions are carried out after 21 weeks of gestation. In fact, four abortion-friendly states, California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey, refused to hand over their abortion numbers, rates, and ratios to the CDC for compilation.
The most recent late-term abortion data released by the CDC dates back to 2021, which does n’t take into account the wave of radical ballot initiatives in dozens of states that seek to legalize women’s birthrights as long as they are accompanied by a doctor’s assertion that their health is in danger.
Late-term abortions are not only not rare, but they are often not “medically necessary” as the press routinely claim. According to a 2013 study, “data suggests that the majority of women seeking later terminations do so because of fetal anomalies or life endangerments.” Another 2019 study agreed that “most late-term abortions are elective, done on healthy women with healthy fetuses, and for the same reasons given by women experiencing first trimester abortions”.
According to the majority of Americans, ending life in the womb in the second trimester as Manhattan Planned Parenthood and numerous other abortion facilities have done for years should be “generally illegal,” which is why the media and the abortion rights movement have been fighting back and forth against late-term abortion.
This falsehood is easily refuted by both corporate media’s favorable reporting on abortion facilities that execute babies up until the day they are born and data that shows tens of thousands of babies die each year from late-term abortion.
