In his first meeting since resigning from the US national contest, Joe Biden explained his reasons for resigning. He claimed that his choice was in part motivated by his opinion that a united Democratic Party and a continued national focus on Trump were key factors in the preparation for the November election.
” I think I have an obligation to the state to do what I think is the most crucial thing you can do, despite having the honor of being chairman.” And that is — we may, we may, we may defeat Trump”, he said in an appointment to CBS News.
Following his disappointing efficiency in the Donald Trump national debate, the US senator made the announcement to leave the competition on July 21. Democrats criticized Biden during the conversation, with several calling for his resignation.
” When I ran the first time, I thought of myself as being a transition president”, the 81-year-old said, adding,” I ca n’t even say how old I am – it’s hard for me to get it out of my mouth”.
Expressing his concerns about peaceful transfer of power in event Trump loses, Biden said,” If Trump loses, I’m not comfortable at all. He means what he says. We do n’t take him seriously. He means it, all the stuff about,’ If we lose, there’ll been a disaster, it’ll have to be a stolen vote.'”
” Look what they’re trying to do now in the local election districts where people count the votes, or putting people in place in states that they’re going to count the votes, best”?, he added.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have both shown bipartisan aid for Biden in the past.
” All Americans are engaged in battle planning by Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz. And when they’re elected, they may govern on behalf of all Americans”, he had said.
