Kamala Harris ‘” pleasant hero” presidential campaign is gaining steam in the polls and drawing sizable crowds, but where she actually stands on issues is a mystery.
” We enjoy doing hard job because we know what we stand for,” Harris said on Thursday in Detroit. ” That’s a major portion of this strategy. You can struggle for what you believe in when you are aware of your beliefs. We are aware of our values and advocate for the individuals.
Despite that claim, Harris’s site does not include a plan page laying out what she plans to do if she wins in November. In contrast, the plan button on President Joe Biden’s campaign website is active as of August 9 and contains sections tagged “fighting to recover sexual freedom” and” building a fairer revenue system that works for the end group“
Former President Donald Trump‘s, the GOP nominee, campaign site includes a section labeled “platform“, with 20 bullet points his team has dubbed Agenda 47.
Harris has made a strong statement on a number of pressing issues, including whether to reinstate Roe v. Wade‘s protections for abortion access and keeping Biden’s pledge to stop raising taxes on anyone making less than$ 400,000 while allowing the Trump tax cuts to expire.
Harris ‘ campaign has distanced herself from a number of policy choices she made during her presidential campaign in 2019. She no longer supports the idea of ending private health insurance, supports a mandated assault weapons buyback program, and supports a federal jobs guarantee. Staff members have all made these changes, not Harris herself.
The Washington Examiner inquired as to when more detailed information about the Harris campaign’s policy platform would be revealed.
A related concern, at least to Harris’s critics, is that she has largely avoided speaking to the press since Biden left the race on July 20. On a Thursday afternoon in Detroit, she took questions from reporters for just 71 seconds without holding a lengthy interview or press conference.
Trump and his running mate, Sen. J. D. Vance (R-OH), are trying to draw attention to Harris’s media silence, with both Trump and Vance holding solo press conferences of their own last week. Vance went so far as to approach Harris’s plane, telling reporters he thought they might get lonely since she wo n’t answer questions.
She is also receiving criticism from conservative organizations.
Win It Back PAC President David McIntosh stated that “VP Harris ‘ staff is working tirelessly to avoid the press and make their candidate even remotely palatable to people outside of San Francisco.”
Her campaign wo n’t be able to conceal her vile instincts and support for radical policies like repealing Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, crippling American energy production, and putting our communities in danger, McIntosh continued.
Will voters care enough about policy proposals or media appearances to abandon her, according to Harris and Trump? Harris has surpassed Trump’s position in the national polling average for RealClearPolitics and wiped his name out in several battleground states.
Some voters may believe they are already familiar with Harris enough to cast their ballots, while others may simply want to keep Trump out of the White House.

” For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been circling around this question”, The New Yorker‘s Jay Caspian King wrote last week. Does Kamala Harris ‘ support of something matter in the end?
Before Labor Day, Harris ‘ staff members recently told Politico that they no longer believe she should conduct extensive interviews. She stated to Detroit media that she wanted to schedule one before the end of August.
