A new social media challenge is urging travelers to “rawdog” their planes by enduring the trip without any form of entertainment, diversion, or even simple services. Individuals in this “rawdogging go” style board planes without headphones, ebooks, or any source of entertainment.
Some people however, take the issue more by abstaining from onboard meals, beverages, and even restroom breaks throughout the trip. Individuals attempting to surpass one another by enduring the longest flights with the fewest comforts has become a result of the pattern.
The potential advantages and disadvantages of this discipline have divergent views among experts. Research suggests that “turning off” your head and taking a break from panels can boost learning, increase slumber, and enhance imagination. In a world where regular online stimulation requires attention spans, psychologists also suggest that this kind of digital detox can help people feel more self-assured.
However, the more extreme variations of this pattern have sparked fears among health professionals.
Manchester City player Erling Haaland just participated in the issue, posting about his expertise on a seven-hour trip where he abstained from using his mobile, sleeping, eating, or consuming. Although health experts vigorously denounced the action, Haaland described the problem as “easy.”
The more intense techniques associated with rawdogging flights were criticized by Dr. Gill Jenkins, a general professional and skilled escort in air hospital work. ” They’re morons”, she told the BBC. The medical advice is that” a digital detox might do you some good,” but it wo n’t do you any harm.
Dr. Jenkins emphasized the risks to health from long-haul flights, particularly deep vein thrombosis ( DVT ) and dehydration. She explained that lack of movement and thirst, which can cause DVT, add to the threat of long-haul traveling. She added that using the toilet is” a little stupid” and that you should get if you need to.
Even though avoiding online distractions can be beneficial, extreme physical exertion can result in serious health risks outweighing any advantages.
