
DUBAI: Abbas Araghchi was nominated on Sunday as Iran’s foreign secretary by President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s congress speaker announced lived on the Student News Network.
Abbas Araghchi, a skilled minister with experience in nuclear negotiations between Iran and other countries, served as their chief negotiator between 2013 and 2021.
He previously held the position of deputy foreign secretary for Asia-Pacific for two years before assuming a temporary position with the government in 2013. He has also served as Iran’s adviser to Turkey and Japan.
Araghchi held positions like lieutenant for political affairs and deputy for lawful and foreign affairs when Mohammad Javad Zarif was in charge of the foreign government.
He graduated from Kent University with a PhD in social idea.
