US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in an interview with New York Times podcast said that President Joe Biden’s letter from last month, which reaffirmed his intention to remain in the 2024 presidential race, “did n’t sound like” him.
” I mean, there are some people who are unhappy with the text. Let me state it separately. Some people claimed that the email had irritated some individuals. I’ll throw it in someone else’s teeth. It did n’t sound like Joe Biden to me. It really did n’t”, Pelosi said during an interview with Ezra Klein on the radio.
” I did n’t accept the letter as anything but a letter”, she added.
Following a sluggish conversation performance that cast doubts over his election victory, Joe Biden on July 8 addressed a notice to Democratic congressional members. In the letter, he said:” The discussion about me running is over. I’m running. In the Democratic key, 14 million persons chose me. Do you want to drown out their message? We’re done with this”.
Biden finally ceded his position in spite of this first position and let Vice President Kamala Harris lead the Democratic solution in the forthcoming election.
When Klein inquired about Pelosi’s widely discussed look on MSNBC’s” Morning Joe,” the text appeared. The previous speaker backed Biden’s choice in that discussion regarding his political future.
Pelosi said:” I wanted to see a plan that could get. Because I made the decision to remain in Congress to overthrow his title, I believe he poses a threat to our nation. It’s not like a Bob Dole or a George Bush or something like that, where you have a difference of opinion”, New York Times reported.
Pelosi said that she wanted to use her appearance on” Morning Joe” to urge,” Stop saying things” ,as NATO leaders were gathering in Washington, DC, that week.
” If you have anything to say, save it for afterwards, until they’re gone”. Because this is a big deal the conference of NATO, which he has strengthened, grown, and now is having. And they’re doing great issues, and he’s the core of it all. Save your remarks for after,” Pelosi added.
After re-eluding from the US presidential race, Biden particularly mentioned Pelosi in a new CBS appointment as he explained his reasons for re-election.
” Many of my Democrat acquaintances in the House and Senate believed that I was going to harm them in the races. And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic — you’d be interviewing me about why did Nancy Pelosi say ]something ] … and I thought it’d be a real distraction, “he said.
” When I ran the first time, I thought of myself as being a change senator. I ca n’t even say how old I am — it’s hard for me to get out of my mouth, “he added.
The statement coincides with columnist Seymour Hersh’s review, which claimed that Barack Obama threatened Joe Biden with the 25th Amendment, asserting that he had” Kamala’s authorization” to replace him from the competition, Collin Rugg said in a blog on X.
