Philly teachers offer glowing praise for Democratic VP candidate Tim Walz

ANALYSIS: Major Philly daily could n’t find one teacher against the Dem ticket?

The Philadelphia Inquirer&nbsp largely provided free advertising to the Democratic presidential seat with an article featuring enthusiastic praise for VP member Tim Walz on Friday.

City class reporter Kristen Graham’s article allegedly failed to mention Kamala Harris and Walz’s history or the controversy surrounding their past and present statements. She also appeared to have found no one educator who was opposed to them.

The only thing to which readers are treated are accolades such as this from Spanish teacher Fatim Byrd:” ]Walz ] was n’t three years in teaching, then gone, he taught for 20 years. He knows how difficult the job is, and finally, he may get us what we need”.

Byrd said she “read up” on Walz after Harris tapped him for the gained place, to which Graham notes Walz” spent two decades as a cultural studies professor in public high schools”,” managed football” and was” the second faculty adviser” to a large school’s Gay Straight Alliance.

Because Walz had” struggled to explain the choices being made in Washington to his students,” English teacher Matthew Kay allegedly said he had” completely delighted” how Walz ( allegedly ) entered politics.

This so-called “teacher energy” means that Kay wo n’t just sit idly by until early November, he’s now going to actively assist the Harris-Walz ticket.

Specific ed. Inez Campbell, a former military officer, was “particularly moved” when he signed a bill that made sure all pupils in his position received complimentary breakfasts and dinners. She likes Walz also served.

” I see nothing wrong with him”, Campbell said, adding she has” like a good sense today” with the Democratic ticket.

MORE: &nbsp, Philly Inquirer&nbsp, does n’t use’ outlawed’ in article about town teachers keeping’ immigrant’ students protected from feds

Molly Maldonado, a professor at the Philadelphia Virtual Academy, claimed Walz’s teachers “recognized themselves,” saying that he” took purpose” at his GOP rival JD Vance and Donald Trump.

Maldonado even said young people are excited by Harris, and they like Walz’s “old person, father vibe”.

Left unrecognized by the Inquirer’s Graham:

    — the controversy over Walz mandating “free period products” ( of which Maldonado also is a fan ) in boy’s school bathrooms.

    — how a 20-year former social studies teacher is unaware that “hate speech” is not an exception to the First Amendment.

    — the numerous controversies surrounding Walz’s defense tenure.

    — how Walz had to adorn his resume for sports training.

Regarding that most trivial point, Walz never claimed to be the head coach of his team ( he was an assistant ), and it is clear that neither saying” the” coach nor” a” coach are interchangeable.

If that’s the case, why the clear embellishment? As a previous head and assistant coach of several high school and middle class sports team myself, I can tell you there&nbsp, is a distinction.

I’d wager good income that no assistant manager who worked with him would always claim that I was” the manager” of that team because one of the best football coaches has ever graced the First State. They’d say” I was a coach” or” I was an assistant/coordinator”.
