Hunter Biden, the son of ReportUS President Joe Biden, officially requested support from the Italian embassy to broker a business deal while his father, who was vice president, was in charge of the deal.
The new reports revealed that the Hunter, using his father’s place, wrote a notice to the US embassy to Italy in 2016 seeking help for a Russian oil firm Burisma, where he was a board member.
Just after Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election charge was ended last month, when state department records were made public for the New York Times.
Without using the appropriate channels at the Department of Commerce, an ambassador at the Embassy in Rome advised against constantly lobbying for a Russian company in Italy. The standard, who works for the business section, emphasized the need to guard the United States ‘ objectives.
The standard wrote that the United States should not be actively lobbying with the Italian government without the company passing through the Department of Commerce lobbying center because this is a Russian company and is only intended to protect ourselves.
The lobbying center is a system that helps British businesses seek out business opportunities with unusual governments.
According to Abbe Lowell, Biden’s attorney, Hunter Biden contacted several people to ask if they could arrange for an introduction between Burisma and the leader of the Tuscany region of Italy, who Burisma was working on a volcanic project.
Calling the awareness by Hunter a “proper demand”, Lowell, in a speech, said,” No appointment occurred, no initiative materialized, no demand for anything in the US was always sought and only an introduction in Italy was requested”.
President Biden was conscious of his father’s referral to the US embassy in Italy during his day as vice president, according to a White House official.
Hunter Biden has not been accused of breaking the FARA, which requires people to report when they entrance the US government for international interests, according to the New York Times.
In a subsequent court filing, prosecutors have suggested that they have proof of Hunter Biden contacting the State Department on behalf of a Latvian real estate developer facing fraud charges.
Despite the fact that he did not register as a lawyer for the Italian designer or Burisma, prosecutors have indicated that they will not file a FARA cost against Biden.
Similar to other situations where Hunter Biden has been accused of possibly using his family’s political control to advance his foreign business interests, the referral to the US Embassy in Rome on behalf of Burisma was not originally reported.
” This is, I think, the biggest social corruption scandal in our humankind’s lifetime”, Representative James R. Comer, a Kentucky Republican and the president of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, said on Newsmax last week after the prosecution ‘ processing about Biden’s engagement for his Italian clientele.
A businessman involved in the Tuscany-based Burisma geothermal energy project revealed that Hunter Biden was asked to help secure regulatory approval when the business had problems. This information was discovered in emails from Biden’s laptop cache, where his associate Eric Schwerin allegedly spoke with an Italian businessman who claimed to have connections to Enrico Rossi, the former head of the Tuscany regional government.
In an email sent to the Italian businessman in July 2016, Schwerin included a letter from Biden to Rossi in hopes that some of its executives will arrange to meet with the president to discuss their geothermal business in Tuscany. Concurrently, Biden sought assistance from John Phillips, the US ambassador, to contact Rossi, as evidenced by State Department records and interviews.
The Ambassador has already responded to one letter from Biden, according to a representative from the commerce department’s email to other US government officials. The official made the suggestion that Biden might be looking for more support than what he had already received.
Rossi claimed in an interview that he had never spoken to Biden and that the US Embassy had not contacted him about the geothermal project.
