An Army lieutenant colonel died unexpectedly while exercising in Sumter, South Carolina, according to U.S. officers on Tuesday.
In a Tuesday press release, U. S. Army Central identified Lt. Col. Roderick Vinson as the Army soldier who died unexpectedly on Sunday. Military officials revealed that they did not believe any foul play was involved in Vinson’s dying despite Army Central’s refusal to release information regarding the general’s death.
In Tuesday’s hit transfer, Col. Jason Squitier, deputy chief of staff for U. S. Army Central, said,” The ARCENT family is devastated by the untimely passing of Lt. Col. Roderick Vinson, a beloved member of our team and an outstanding leader in the business”.
According to U.S. Army Central, Vinson, 55, worked for Army Central Command as a travel agent at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. The actual place of Vinson’s death has not been made public by military officers as of Sunday, but the Sumter Police Department is currently looking into the death of the lieutenant colonel, according to U.S. Army Central, according to U.S. Army Central.

According to U. S. Army Central, Vinson was a local of Charlotte, North Carolina, and second joined in the U. S. Army as an 11M, Fighting Vehicle Infantryman in 1987. In 1999, Vinson was commissioned as a travel agent.
U. S. Army Central noted that Vinson was a decorated man. Vinson received numerous awards, including the NATO Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star, and the National Defense Service Medal.
