South Korea’s 26th tropical day in a row, when the temperature was consistently above 25 degrees Celsius, broke the 118-year history.
” The cold weather is not coming down from the north, and as we are affected by the brighter side of the south, the temperature is constantly recording around 25 degrees Fahrenheit or above”, Youn Ki-han, chairman at Seoul’s Meteorology Forecast Division, told AFP.
Southern port town Busan has experienced the most consecutive tropical night, and the trend has continued for 21 days in a row.
Since 1907, Seoul has experienced its most intense heat for a long time. The past history, set in 2018, was thought to be the longest, but the current ability is then considered the new normal by the wind firm.
Busan, another big city in South Korea, has also been affected by the heat, according to the KBS earth, a Korean-based page.
The first tropical night fell on July 25; according to the Korean Meteorological Administration ( KMA ) on Thursday, Busan experienced the first of 21 consecutive tropical nights between Wednesday and Thursday.
The definition of a tropical day is the time between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following day when daytime temperatures are above 25 degrees Celsius.
