
A yacht measuring 50 feet capsized and sank on Monday night near Sicily, killing one person and at least six others who were reported missing. Of the 22 people on board the ship, 12 were customers and the remainder were members of the crew.
After the vessel, which was sailing under a European symbol, encountered a storm and rough seas at morning, the Italian Coast Guard and rescuers managed to rescue 15 people, including a young person.
As reported by the news agency Adnkronos, the ship’s individuals included 2 Anglo-French people, an British national, a New Zealander, and a Sri Lankan, while the remaining people were English.
About a half-mile from the beach, fire department swimmers are continuing their research efforts in the area of the sunken vehicle, which is currently a degree of 50 meters.
