The incident, which occurred shortly after midnight on Friday, was the seventh one in which law enforcement in the condition has been involved in in as many times.
The happenings bring this year’s count to 54 officer-involved murders that the GBI has been asked to check. That’s 10 fewer than at the same time next month.
In Gordon County, sheriff’s deputies were called around evening to a house on Erwin Hill Church Road near Sonoraville about a “domestic commotion”. A person who was holding a gun was present to the responding deputies, according to authorities. As they tried to talk with her, she frequently pointed the gun at deputies, who shot her, the coroner’s office said.
The woman was taken to a doctor, but her damage was not considered lethal, officials said.
A day prior, a chaotic image unfolded in Middle Georgia. Cedar Grove, which is located about an hour south of Warner Robins between Dublin and McRae-Helena, was the scene of a call from Laurences County representatives.
The visit came in around 10: 20 p. m. Thursday about a local dispute involving a man identified as Curtis “CJ” Glen Purvis Jr., 31, the GBI said. What sparked the debate was not disclosed. According to officials, the victim was just a friend of Purvis ‘ and had already left the scene by the time a deputy arrived.
The victim’s parents either joined the conversation with the assistant or was near when Purvis, according to the GBI, drove away.
Realizing he was about to hit another vehicle and the defendant’s father, a lieutenant killed at and hit Purvis ‘ vehicles, the GBI said. According to authorities, Purvis exited the car and knifed the prey before returning inside with a knife.
The lieutenant then opened fire, tragically impressive Purvis, the GBI confirmed. How Purvis was able to return to the house was unclear.
The target and the parents were taken to a hospital, officials said. Their problems were never released.
Around the same moment,  , authorities in Brookhaven , opened fire on a home invasion think following a pursuit that ended in Chamblee. Albert Eugene Burns, 19, was taken to a doctor and described as important but firm.
Before that,  , Warner Robins officers shot and killed Mikhal Anthony Concepcion, 20, in an exchange of gunfire with soldiers Monday, authorities said.
On Sunday,  , Israel Johnson, 23,  , was shot by DeKalb County officers after he reportedly charged at officers while pointing a gun, authorities said. Even on Sunday, 26-year-old , Marquavious Sims , was killed in an exchange of gunfire with soldiers at an Athens oil stop, authorities said.
On Aug. 9,  , Nathain Jenkins, 32, was tragically shot by Cobb County authorities while inside a Walgreens, the GBI said. And on Aug. 8, south Georgia sheriff’s deputies shot and killed , Jamie Lynn However, 45, the GBI confirmed. However fired at them first, according to the Sumter County representatives.
