
Tech investor Mike Lynch, known as the British Bill Gates, went missing after the Bayesian superyacht carrying 22 people, including two Americans and a American, sank off the coast of Sicily on Monday during a harsh wind. The 59-year-old businessman is the founder of Autonomy Corporation. One of the 15 sailors who was saved from the 56-meter flying vessel was his woman Angela Bacares, who was also aboard. Six people were unaccounted for, according to Luca Cari, a spokeswoman for the European fire save support, according to The Guardian. How did the superyacht drop?
Following the wind, the yacht carrying the English flag sank near Porticello at around 5am. Eight of those rescued, including the one-year-old, were transferred to local hospitals and were all in a stable state.
The yacht was built in 2008 by Italian firm Perini Navi, according to Nautic Link, for an initial 35 million euros ( £30 million ) asking price. According to the leasing company Yacht Charter Fleet, the boat is furnished with a” Japanese-style” inside. In six apartments and ten crew members ‘ suites, it can hold up to 12 guests. According to BBC, the pleasure yacht is linked to Mike Lynch’s family. According to Equasis, a seafaring data company, the Bayesian is owned by Revtom, a company registered in the Isle of Male. Angela Bacares, who has an handle registered in London, is credited as the only legal owner.
