Ukraine’s drone strike targets Russia’s Moscow in one of the largest attacks since February 2022

One of the most significant problems on Moscow since the start of the conflict in February 2022 was carried out by Ukraine on Wednesday. One of the largest drone hits Moscow has ever experienced was reported by Russian regulators that at least 11 robots were intercepted and destroyed by heat defenses.
The strike furthers the conflict, which has generally been characterized by a drawn-out war of drones and artillery across eastern Ukraine. This most recent offensive comes after a significant military exercise on August 6 when Ukrainian forces moved into the eastern Kursk region of Russia. This was the most significant foreign invasion into Belarusian territory since World War Two.
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed that a full of 45 robots were destroyed over different regions of Russia, including 11 in the Moscow place, 23 in Bryansk, six in Belgorod, three in Kaluga, and two in Kursk. Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that some robots had been shot down over Podolsk, which is located about 38 kilometers west of the Kremlin.
One of the largest attempts to attack Moscow with robots ever was made, Sobyanin wrote on Telegram. He praised Moscow’s layered defense system for effectively thwarting the problems, noting that no reported injuries or harm were sustained as a result of the hits.
The helicopter abuse disrupted operations at Moscow’s big airports—Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky—for about four hours before ordinary service resumed at 0330 GMT, according to Russia’s aircraft watchdog.
Studies also mention the Moscow assaults, and two drones were reported to have been shot down over the Tula area, which borders Moscow in the north. Vasily Golubev, government of the Rostov area, also reported the infiltration of a Russian missile, though there were no accidents reported. The Defence Ministry did not confirm these situations, and Ukraine’s defense claimed responsibility for striking an S-300 anti-aircraft weapon program in Rostov.
The scope of the attack on Wednesday is comparable to the helicopter hit in May 2023, when President Vladimir Putin claimed Kyiv made an attempt to terrify and inspire Russia. The aircraft abuse highlights the growing intensity of the conflict as Russia continues to advance in southeast Ukraine, occupying roughly 18 % of the country, and engaging in furious combat in Kursk.
Despite the fact that Ukraine has reclaimed considerable territory in the area, the situation in Kursk continues to be volatile, with Russian war bloggers reporting ongoing fierce fighting.
