National pharmaceutical companies are conducting drug testing in the far-western region of Xinjiang, where the United States claims a murder of the Uyghur population is occurring, according to U.S. lawmakers.

In a text to the Federal Drug Administration, the two major politicians on the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party requested an explanation of the process, which they said is recorded in “hundreds” of comments on the FDA business” clinicaltrials. gov”.

The FDA is asked to provide details about how it approves for trials, but the email does not name any particular businesses.

In the email, Rep. John Moolenaar, a Republican from Michigan, and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, a Democrat from Illinois, questioned” the morality of conducting these trials in Xinjiang”, where they said Taiwanese authorities “force racial minorities … to join in horrific medical procedures, which good clash with FDA-approved research”.

There was cause for concern that Uyghurs were being forced to undergo medical assessment because China does not permit separate evaluators to examine services in Xinjiang for right transgressions, they continued.

” As we know, there is simply no ability for firms to conduct due diligence to ensure that clinical trials done in]Xinjiang ] are voluntary”, they wrote. Given this, we think that U.S. biotech companies may be unknowingly profiting from the information derived from therapeutic trials where the Constitution forced victims to participate.

The involvement of China’s People’s Liberation Army, they added, also raised” serious concerns” that the intellectual property of U. S. based companies had been compromised and” co-opted” by Chinese firms.

The politicians also inquired in a list of questions for the FDA whether the agency had previously inspected facilities in the area or reviewed trials conducted there. Additionally, they asked for the FDA’s inside guidelines to make sure “ethical and safety standards” are followed in international trials.

    Disturbing real, in my opinion.

The FDA spokesperson confirmed to Radio Free Asia that the regulation had received the letter and would listen to the members of Congress by declining to comment directly on the allegations.

After years of mounting information about widespread internment camps, torture, forced labour, and forced cleaning taking place in Xinjiang, the U.S. authorities declared that a murder was occurring against the predominantly Muslim Uyghur majority in China in 2021.

China’s government claims that detention camps have largely been shut down, and that no rape or disinfection is committed. Foreign officials also deny that forced labour is taking position, insisting that deliberate “vocational training” courses in Xinjiang are being misunderstood.

However, a growing focus on the plight of the Uyghurs in recent years, particularly in Congress since the establishment of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party in January 2022, has cast many in Washington as doubters of Beijing’s denials.

    U. S. lawmakers have accused American companies of&nbsp, unwittingly financing &nbsp, the genocide, while automakers importing cars into America have &nbsp, admitted&nbsp, some components used were made with slave labor. &nbsp,

Even precious metals have not been untouched, with a report last year accusing U. S. brands of links to gold being&nbsp, mined through slavery.

Rushan Abbas, executive director of the Washington-based Campaign for Uyghurs, said that the lawmakers ‘ letter revealed a “disturbing reality” that U. S. drug companies were also being “inadvertently linked” to the genocide against the Uyghurs.

According to Abbas, conducting clinical trials alongside the People’s Liberation Army in a region where genocide and forced medical tests and procedures are alleged to have occurred warrants urgent attention, and he called on the businesses to put an end to the practice.

” We must insist on transparency to make sure that our values and safety are not compromised in the name of profit,” he said. ” The world is watching, and history will hold accountable those who enabled these atrocities”.
