After a knife strike at a festival in Solingen, northern Germany, many people were killed and many others were hurt. At least three people have died and several others have been injured, according to the local paper Bild.
According to reports from festival planner Philipp Müller, local Solinger Tageblatt paper reported, the exact number of casualties are unknown, but emergency workers are apparently fighting to save the life of nine people.
The event occurred in the Fronhof, a main square in Solingen, a town of 160, 000 people located near Cologne and Düsseldorf.
The event celebrating the city’s 650th anniversary started on Friday and was scheduled to run through Sunday.
As of now, no arrests have been made.
In Germany, weapons and other dangerous situations are not uncommon. In June, a 29-year-old officer died after being stabbed in the German town of Mannheim during an assault on a right-wing show. Many people were injured in a stabbing in a 2021 assault on a coach, as a result.
