A 27-year-old girl from Canton, Ohio, is facing severe claims after she allegedly killed and consumed a rabbit infront of her companions.
Officials were called to a casing advanced on 13th Street in Canton on August 16 around 11 p.m. when witnesses reported seeing Allexis Telia Ferrell perform the gruesome act. The Canton Police Department claims that Ferrell struck the cat head foremost, killing it before formally consuming the dog.
The disturbing event led to Ferrell’s imprisonment later that night. According to court records, she has been accused of injuring animals, chaotic behavior, and other offenses involving companion animal care. During her arraignment on Monday, Ferrell was given an initial bond set at$ 100, 000, the Daily mail reported.
Local animal consumption has long been viewed as cruel in the United States. This attitude was lately brought to light when Robert F. Kennedy Jr, a former president, received criticism for a photo that some claimed showed him eating a grilled dog. Kennedy asserted that the goat’s flesh was the subject of an internal argument.
Legislation that forbids the murder of dogs and cats for meal was passed by the US House of Representatives in 2018. The republican bill sought to alter the federal Animal Welfare Act to make it illegal to consume these animals, a sign that a growing body of evidence opposes such behavior.
