This trip, Taiwan’s worst headache was playing in front of camera crew on the street in front of the presidential palace in Taipei. A rally that could result from a Chinese invasion was depicted by a group of stars and features as a violent and bloody mess. The scene was captured for” Zero Day,” a brand-new Japanese TV series that depicts China’s attempt to occupy the politically ruled island.
” Zero Day” does not heat until next year, but it has already set off heated conversations in Taiwan, after the launch of a truck. Supporters of the line claim that it will spark a much-needed discussion about the danger China poses. Detractors have denounced it as scaremongering. Manufacturer of” Zero Day,” Cheng Hsin-mei, said she wanted to sooth Chinese people from what she perceives as common apathy and reluctance about the possibility of war.
The present” Zero Day”, a 10-episode line, imagines how China could support a siege around Taiwan, then attempt to overrun the beach, a possibility that many researchers see as exceedingly believable. The drama follows a Taiwanese TV presenter, an online celebrity, a ( fictional ) prez and prez-elect and other characters as they confront a weeklong Chinese campaign. The siege leads to scarcity on the island, looting and economic collapse. Europeans are evacuated. Lastly, as Chinese forces land, fighting ensues. The characters must decide whether to flee or be, and whether to work together or not. The voice is gloomy, to judge from the show’s 17-minute truck, which was issued digitally before the line had finished capturing.
No film or TV drama has yet to explore these issues for a wider audience, obviously because of the article’s political contentiousness, despite the extensive plan research that has been done regarding the risk of an conquest of Taiwan. According to Cheng, some Chinese actors turned down roles out of fear that China would place them on a blacklist or drop sponsors. Some houses or sites ‘ masters made exceptions to the terms of their permits for filming on their property.
Critics, mainly from Taiwan’s criticism, said” Zero Day” amounted to advertising for the governing Democratic Progressive Party. Moments were filmed at defense places and inside the presidential house, according to the criticism nationalist group, which supports stronger relationships with Beijing. Lo Ging-zim, one of the 10 managers involved in the series, said it was typical for Chinese TV and film productions to gain some state funding. Lo said he was inspired to visit” Zero Day” after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
