    Gas Prices: An increase at the pumps in the middle of the work week

    Oil prices jumped on Wednesday, marking the first time there’s been a surge in the cost of gasoline in over a year. According to AAA, the average price for a quart of regular gasoline is today$ 3.361. This was an increase from the price on Tuesday’s price for regular gas, which was$ 3.35.

    Wednesday’s improve was also less expensive than last year, when it cost$ 3.398 per gallon for regular gasoline. Additionally, it is less expensive than a fortnight back, when the average cost of a gallon of regular gas was$ 3. 505.

    Prior to the 2024 presidential election, oil prices will still be a hot topic. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, will have to explain how she will handle the nation’s high gas prices and energy costs as well as how they will affect the economy and the people’s finances as President Joe Biden decides not to run for president.

    Prices have fluctuated in 2024, but they have decreased over the past few weeks and months. However, gas prices are still significantly higher than they were when former US President Donald Trump was in business.

    Washington, D. C.

    Costs dropped in Washington on Wednesday, continuing a fad established last month, with the exception of a minor boost yesterday, unlike the regular price of gasoline in the nation. In Washington, the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline is$ 3. 614 in the week leading up to Labor Day Weekend. This was a increases from today’s cost of$ 3.615. Wednesday’s price is less expensive than last week when the cost was$ 3.65 per gallon, and a month ago, when it was$ 3.698.

    Maryland

    On Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Maryland is$ 3.285. This was a slight drop from Tuesday’s cost when gas was$ 3.286. Additionally, it’s less expensive than a week ago, when a gallon of regular gas in Maryland cost$ 3.359 and a month, when regular gas cost$ 3.342. When regular gasoline cost$ 3. 732/gallon in Maryland a year ago, rates are significantly lower now.

    Delaware

    On Wednesday, Delaware’s oil prices were still the lowest in the area, reaching$ 3.186 per quart. This decreased from last week, when the regular price for a gallon of regular gasoline was$ 3. 277.     Mississippi

    With a price of$ 2.89 per gallon, Mississippi reclaimed the title of having the least expensive gas prices in the nation on Wednesday. Oklahoma won this distinction on Monday, dethroning Mississippi from the respect it held for the majority of its year of being the position with the lowest gas prices in the country. Wednesday’s price was a slight drop from Tuesday’s cost of$ 2.893 per gallon and Monday’s price of$ 2.896 per gallon. Oklahoma’s sales however rose to$ 2.924.

    Hawaii

    Hawaii continues to be the position with the most expensive gasoline, with the average rate for regular oil on Wednesday at$ 4.664 per gallon. When regular oil cost$ 4.64 per gallon a week ago, prices are actually higher in the Aloha State today. But, a month ago, normal gas was really cheaper in Hawaii, costing individuals Hawaiians$ 4.662 per litre.
