    Florida sheriff slams Washington DC lawmakers after illegal immigrants arrested for $7,300 palmetto berry theft

    After many illegal immigrants were detained in Florida last week for allegedly stealing thousands of pounds of palm fruit, a Florida judge criticized Washington, DC lawmakers for their” complete and total loss” securing the US borders.
    $ 7, 300 for palmetto berries stolen
    In a video released on August 26, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey revealed that eight defendants, including four illegal immigrants, had been detained for allegedly stealing about$ 7,300 fair of palm fruit from personal property. The suspects loaded around 9, 000 pounds of fruit into a U-Haul, according to a Fox News record.
    ” Full loss on Washington, DC.”
    Ivey, who has made several trips to the US southern borders, said that the problem is not with local police agencies but with Washington, DC lawmakers. ” This is a complete and total failure on Washington, DC, for not allowing the laws of our great country to be enforced”, he said.
    Prosecutor’s call to action
    Deputy Ivey questioned when compassion for those who illegally enter the US will increase. According to a Fox News report, he addressed Washington officials and said,” Why do n’t you allow our Customs and Border Patrol agents to secure our damn border like our laws allow, or get the hell out of the way, and I’ll do it with the help of sheriffs from across the country who actually believe in enforcing the law and are sick and tired of this crap”
    Broader problem
    Judge Ivey emphasized that while this affair “may not seem like a big deal to some people,” it raises a larger issue of illegal immigrants committing atrocities in the US. Ivey said,” What this circumstance revealed about the subjects who were arrested and the fact that they are in our country illegally drives me insane,” according to a report from Fox News.
    ‘ Unless they commit a violent misdemeanor… ‘
    Two of the four illegal immigrants who were detained are applying for US citizen and cannot be deported because their immigration position is pending, according to Ivey. The judge noted that some of the defendants had formerly been deported and had previously been detained for criminal hegemony. He expressed disappointment over the lack of police, stating,” Unless they commit a violent criminal, they’re not going to be deported no matter how some violent crimes they’ve committed”.
