Elon Musk reacts to claims that Brazil blocked Starlink accounts: ‘Lapdog, outright criminal’

Elon Musk called Brazil president Lula a lapdog of Justice Alexandre as the country reportedly froze Starlink’s bank accounts to seize fines levied on X. “This guy @Alexandre is an outright criminal of the worst kind, masquerading as a judg,” Elon Musk wrote in his response to the penal action. “The tyrant, @Alexandre, is dictator of Brazil. Lula is his lapdog,” he added.
After Brazil’s Supreme Court on Wednesday gave Elon Musk 24 hours to label a lawyer for X in Brazil, the company was apparently targeted. Elon Musk owns both Starlink and X.
In Brazil, X has been in the hot, and Musk last year ordered to halt some accounts by a Portuguese Supreme Court justice. Musk closed X’s business there. After Musk fought with ads and told them never to invest on the platform, X may gain access to one of its largest areas outside the United States.
On Wednesday evening, the judge posted its ruling on X, suggesting that Musk had until Thursday, around 8 p.m., native time, to answer.
X and Musk did not respond to inquiries for comments on a potential restrictions right away. Otherwise, Musso took to X to mock Moraes.
After Moraes mandated the expulsion of more than 100 X records citing propaganda, Musk has accused Moraes of censoring traditional tones online.
Most of the transactions that Moraes has targeted belong to right-wing supporters of Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s previous leader. Some of them questioned Bolsonaro’s 2022 election damage and sympathized with protesters who raided Brazil’s halls of power, hoping to summon a military takeover.
Musk has publicly supported Bolsonaro, and worked with him on an effort to bring Musk’s net services, Starlink, to Brazil.
