Why Isn’t Kamala Harris Farther Ahead?

Kamala Harris has soaked up the most encouraging and devoted media coverage I’ve ever seen in a battle for the past six months. &nbsp,

And I’ve seen a lot of efforts. &nbsp,

I remember the 1964 election pretty well, yet though I was just ten years old. Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, a thick traditional, was ridiculed by the Republicans for having the motto” I may tell you that fanaticism in the defense of liberty is no evil and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” With it, the Democrats destroyed him. ” There was a smell of murder” in his personal range from the convention, said the New York Times at the time.

Then there was the 1976 Jimmy Carter race, in which the media overreacted and glorified a Georgian small politician. But what was most crucial was the fact that Carter was n’t Nixon. They sold Carter like they sold Kennedy —” We’ll sell him like soap flakes”, said old Joe Kennedy before the 1960 race. President Ford was described in the internet as a bumbling stupid. Ford’s story was over, and that was it.

In 1988, the media attempted to call Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis a” hard liberal.” That endured until this image of Dukakis in an Abrams container became one of literature’s most well-known plan images.

The 2008 US News article” The photograph of Dukakis wearing a dopey smiles and a great helmet aboard a container was turned into an advertisement ridiculing him for being soft on defense.” Even the” Massachusetts Miracle” could n’t save him. He lost 40 state.

George Bush’s plan was allegedly used by his wealthy father’s control to avoid a tour of Vietnam in 2004 when CBS News attempted to end it. A legion of liberal bloggers started dissecting the CBS story, finding many contradictions in important documents as the internet was just starting to become widely available. &nbsp,

” Blogs have no checks and balances. ]It’s ] a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas”, said Jonathan Klein of “60 Minutes” in 2004.

Sometimes. But four “60 Minutes” staffers were fired after the network grudgingly admitted the documents could n’t be authenticated. PJ Media, AKA” Pajamas Media”, went lived soon after.

Although the internet is also biased, there is at least some criticism from the other side.

Nevertheless, when the media is nearly unanimous in its storytelling, there is n’t much the opposition can do. That’s where we find ourselves immediately. Kamala Harris ‘ campaign has received wildly good protection. She can do no wrong. Tim Walz is” Father Knows Best’s” second-guess. All of her frightful, extreme ideas from her 2020 campaign have vanished.

However, the most recent poll indicates that Harris has a slight advantage over Donald Trump within the error ratio.

    Wall Street Journal:

Harris had 48 % support to Trump’s 47 % in a head-to-head test of the two candidates, and she led by 2 points, 47 % to 45 %, on a ballot that included independent and third-party candidates, according to the poll, which was conducted after Democrats concluded their televised national convention. The margin of error for the turns in both matches was plus or minus 2.5 percent items.

In any Journal poll conducted since April of last year, the poll showed that the Democrat member had previously led Trump in a head-to-head race. Trump had a 2-point advantages over Harris in the Journal’s head-to-head check in late July.

Why is n’t Harris up by 5-10 points? Why is n’t Trump collapsing?

Naturally, it’s a unique advertising world than 1964 or perhaps 2004. Citizens are more internet savvy. Most fake information can see through it. And with so many different options of news and information, they may pick and choose which media outlets to learn and, just as important, feel.

Kamala Harris received glowing media coverage that is too good to be true, and many people are aware of this. They have n’t changed their views of Harris since she was a bumbling, near-incoherent vice president. As we saw in the CNN meeting on Thursday night, the internet will make an effort to defend Harris. They wo n’t pressure her to hold press conferences. They wo n’t hold her feet to the fire on issues where she’s flip-flopped.

The picture they are creating of Harris is strong, brave, and wonderful. Donald Trump and the Republican Party face a problem of lowering that picture down to reflect reality.
