
At least seven persons, including a 6-year-old son and his 16-year-old girl, were killed, and lots more were injured in a vehicle crash in Mississippi on Saturday.
The accident took place on Saturday at 12:40 am in Warren County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The vehicle, operated by Regiomontanos Autobuses, was heading west on Interstate 20 when it left the bridge and overturned. Undetermined reasons exist for the vehicle to veer off the road.
According to MHP, six persons were declared dead at the scene, and one more died after at Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg. Unnamed accidents were also reported to hospitals in Jackson and Vicksburg, along with thirty-seven other passengers. The co-driver of the vehicle was no hospitalised.
The victims ‘ names have not been released, but Warren County prosecutor Doug Huskey confirmed to CBS News that the bereaved sisters, a 6-year-old son and a 16-year-old woman from Guatemala, were identified by their family. According to media studies, other people were from Central America.
No additional vehicles were involved in the incident, which is being looked into by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division.
