Even those AI systems that are being developed do n’t actually do what five employees claim to be able to do. They have no self-awareness and no subjectivity. Labor is a mortal effort. It simply does not exist to make a soulless business better. Workers are not the figments of the humorous heaven that TV portrays them to be. Job exists to expand the employee and, in that way, change the world. Yes, it involves suffering, but life does n’t just begin Friday afternoon after the five o’clock whistle blows.

Labor requires self-mastery, which is a good good. Why? Because you ca n’t give someone else something in your work or any area of your life if you do n’t have them, you ca n’t give them something. We can concentrate on what we are doing while our parents is outside in the car or the house, just like kids working on a little work in the garden.
