A number of rules have recently been passed by Georgia’s State Election Board ( SEB ) to make sure that election results are verified before being certified. However, the left-wing media is trying to make election documentation merely a passing politeness by defaming the rules.
One law approved by the SEB ( Rule 183-1-12-. 02 ) clarifies that county election board can fulfill their certification obligation” after reasonable inquiry that the election’s calculation and canvassing are complete and accurate and that the benefits are a true and accurate accounting of all votes cast in that vote.”
A separate concept ( Rule 183-1-12-. 12 ) permits board members to in part review” all vote related documents created during the course of elections due to certification of results.”
But obviously, precision challenges “undermining election certification”, according to CBS News.
Democrats ‘ strategy has been used by the propaganda push to reinforce the idea that it’s better to rubber-stamp an election without having questions posed than to ensure the poll results are true.
The rules, according to Madeleine May, Scott MacFarlane, and Katrina Kaufman of CBS News, are intended to aid “election conspiracy theorists across the country… attempt to delay the final tallying of results.” However, all the rules actually do is understand the crucial role county officials play in verifying that results are exact as part of the certification process, according to SEB Member Janelle King.
” It’s not about the outcome, it’s about the process”, King said. ” If the procedure is best, you can then trust the results”.
CNN’s Nick Valencia, Sara Murray, Jason Morris, and Jade Gordon echoed CBS News ‘ false say, writing,” GOP-controlled vote committee in Georgia passes concept that could further delay credential”.
David Becker, a source to CBS News ‘ election law column, suggests that the rules may prevent one state from refusing to confirm the results before the state could submit them by the deadline.
However, the rules, according to Ken Cuccinelli, the head of the Election Transparency Initiative, “do not in any way alter]the ] timeline of certification.”
It’s as simple as an airline making certain the number of passengers on the airplane matches the number of tickets scanned for board, “following the law in the documentation process ensures one voting returns one ballot and amp.” Laws create clarity”, Cuccinelli continued.
Rule 183-1-12-. 12 does not change the documentation date, even going so far as directly noting the 5: 00 p. m. qualification date on the Monday following the election.
” If you really read the law, you’ll notice there’s nothing in there that may delay certification”, Cobb County GOP Chairwoman Salleigh Grubbs, who proposed the law, tells The Federalist.
CNN laments that state election officials are authorized to “investigate any potential anomalies.” WABE’s Sam Gringlas also bemoans the new laws, which in part allow election board people, if they “identify a discrepancy”, to investigate the gap before documentation.
For instance, a county could examine why more ballots were cast than the number of voters who cast ballots before certifying the election results. The SEB ruled in May that Fulton County violated the law during the 2020 election when it double-scanned more than 3, 000 ballots. The county’s complaint against the county, Kevin Moncla, claims that the ballots were also double-counted because they were on the cast vote record.
