Both Mariah Carey’s family, Patricia, and the band’s girl, Alison, died over the weekend.
” I’m heartbroken that I lost my mother over the weekend. My girl lost her life on the same day, unfortunately, in a horrible turn of events,” the performer said in a statement shared with the Daily News.
” I feel blessed that I was able to devote the last week with my mother before she passed”, the 55-year-old extended. ” I appreciate one’s love, support, and appreciation for my private during this difficult time.”
Both women’s deaths were never identified.
Carey described her relationship with her mother — a Juilliard-trained musical singer and vocal coach — as a mix” of pride, pain, sorrow, love, jealousy, admiration, and sadness” in her autobiography,” The Significance of Mariah Carey”.
” It’s never been merely black-and-white — it’s been a full rainbow of feelings”, she wrote.
The Grammy-winning actress even had a break from Alison, who was sued for defamation by her nephew Morgan over allegations made in the 2020 film.
Carey’s parents, Alfred Roy Carey, died in 2002.
