Blinken presses Israel, Hamas on truce, says ’90 percent agreed’

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken backed US estimates that 90 % of a offer had been reached on Thursday, calling on both Israel and Hamas to reach a final peace.
Blinken claimed that the United States may be presenting additional ideas through Egypt and Qatar as intermediaries in order to finalize an agreement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuted a US official’s claim that a 90 % of a deal was set, saying that “it’s not tight.” In an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Netanyahu said.
But Blinken repeated the assessment at a news conference during a visit to Haiti, saying,” I think based on what I’ve seen, 90 % is agreed”.
According to Blinken, “it’s actually incumbent on both events to get the other party to vote well.”
Every day that passes without a peace agreement is one where something happens, and there is an intermediate event that just pushes things off, he said, adding that as near as we can come to a ceasefire agreement, there is no way for it to be achieved.
In recent months, the United States has spearheaded a plan to close the stalemate between the two parties, including those involving Netanyahu’s emphasis on leaving some Israeli troops on the Gaza-Egypt border.
Blinken expressed his doubts about Netanyahu’s ability to reach a traditional package with Saudi Arabia, the custodian of Islam’s two holy shrines. He has put a major focus on correcting diplomatic ties with Arab states.
Before Biden leaves office in January, Blinken did not rule out a deal.
He said,” I believe there is still a chance for this administration to advance normalization” if a ceasefire is reached in Gaza.
