Elton John, the he of the amazing spectacles and bedazzled sunglasses, has been “quietly” spending his summer recovering from a” intense gaze disease” that has affected his eyesight.

The singer, who co-hosts” Bennie and the Jets” and” Crocodile Rock,” explained his sluggish social media presence on the sidelines of his health release on Tuesday.

” Over the summers, I’ve been dealing with a serious eye disease that has unfortunately left me with only minimal vision in one eye”, the&nbsp, EGOT winner&nbsp, said in a&nbsp, statement&nbsp, on Instagram. ” I am healing, but it’s a very slow process, and it will take some time before the disrupted eye can see again.”

The 77-year-old glider claimed that over the past few weeks, his physicians, nurses, and home have been looking after him and that he has been “quietly spending the summer recuperating at house.”

He continued,” I am feeling optimistic about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.” John, who was a Reginald Kenneth Dwight, declined to provide further information about the state or its origins.

Reps for John did not respond to The Times ‘ requests for comment right away on Wednesday.

The famed singer-songwriter has suffered from health problems for the past few years.

John — who&nbsp, retired from touring last year&nbsp, — was briefly hospitalized last summer after falling at his house on the French Riviera, where he had been spending his summer with father David Furnish and their children since wrapping his record-breaking&nbsp, Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour&nbsp, that July.

Photos of the” Rocket Man” singer in a chair even alarmed supporters in 2022, but John after explained on&nbsp, Instagram&nbsp, that he was using the chair to rest his shoulder after a “blockbuster present” in Bern and while being transported through the Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany. He “fell strangely on a hard surface” in 2021, and his treatment delayed several of his visit dates. He underwent shoulder surgery.

The English actor was also among the many players whose&nbsp, live shows were scuttled in 2020&nbsp, due to the COVID-19 crisis. In January 2022, only after relaunching his farewell visit and despite being vaccinated and boosted, he had to reschedule shows in Dallas after experiencing “mild indicators” when he&nbsp, contracted COVID-19.
