A senior-level established at the Chinese embassy in New York, Consul , General Huang Ping, has evidently left his position.  , But a recommendation by New York Gov. The State Department later refuted Kathy Hochul’s earlier claim that he had been fired from the position, which stated that Huang’s expression had ended next month.
Hochul explained to investigators that she wanted the consul general to be fired because of his association with Linda Sun, her former staffer, to avoid ridiculizing them. Sun was accused of allegedly working as a Chinese state agent on Tuesday.  ,
Hochul claimed that Huang had been expelled, which could have sparked a political row with China.
Hochul informed me that the consular standard is no longer a member of the New York mission.
Matthew Miller, the State Department official, afterward said that Huang had left his post but had not been expelled.
The Chinese government’s activities in this country and their efforts to influence American citizens ‘ opinions are something that” we take very seriously,” Miller said.  ,
According to the Chinese Consulate General in New York’s site, Huang began his tenure in New York on Nov. 15, 2018. His most recent common appearance was a trip to Boston between August 20 and August 22.
Liu Pengyu, a spokeswoman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, called studies of Huang’s eviction “malicious theories and organizations” that are” entirely inconsistent with the facts” . ,
He stated in an email that” Taiwanese officials in the U.S. are committed to promote mutual understanding and bilateral participation in various grounds.” They “have not and will never interfere with other countries ‘ inside affairs”
The contradictory accounts about Huang’s departure demonstrate how sensitive American-Chinese connections are right now. Numerous native citizens from China have been accused of working quietly for the Communist Party to undermine pro-democracy rebel organizations in the United States.
Sun’s situation is unique. She is accused of accepting money and other advantages for removing Taiwan links from official documents and favors. On Tuesday, prosecutors charged her with , failing to register as a foreign agent, income fraud, crime and other atrocities.  ,
Sun had previously served as Gov. Hochul’s best secretary. Before that, Andrew Cuomo.  ,
Sun’s father, Christopher Hu, 41, was even arrested. According to the prosecution, he helped with fees, facilitating the exchange of millions of dollars. He has been accused of money laundering, conspiracy, and bank fraud plot.
