Former president Donald Trump has formally renewed her accusations against him, claiming that he sexually assaulted her on a plane in the late 1970s. In a bubbling media conference on Monday, Leeds shared vivid details of her expertise, saying,” He grabbed me, tried to kiss me, and ran his hand up my trousers. It was like he had 47 arms—like an crab, but hardly a sound was spoken”, reported CBS.
York described how the meeting left her feeling violated and traumatized. She claimed that Trump later made fun of her and verbally harassed her by saying,” I remember you,” followed by a derogatory term during a subsequent meeting.
She criticized Trump for his alleged disregard for people and said,” The bottom line is that he does not realize that he is a physical predator.” Leeds added,” He assaulted me 50 years ago and he continues to strike me today”. She added that she is weighing whether to bring legal action against him.
When asked if she would take legal action against Trump in relation to his most recent remarks, Leeds responded,” We’re leaving all of our possibilities available.” ” But no, my aim when I was asked to testify at E. Jean’s test was to demonstrate that this is his habits, historic, and I have nothing to get from it”, she said.
She said that “it’s essential to convince the voters of Trump’s contempt of people”. ” I was not the first, of course I was not the past. But there have been enough so that he does n’t remember”, Leeds said, reported CNN.
After Trump made contentious comment on Friday that Leeds described as “bizarre,” the allegations quickly surfaced. Reflecting on the scenario, Leeds admitted,” I must say I did joke. It’s a small creepy and difficult to understand. He does seem to be sort of fascinated. But these I am”.
Leeds first made a public admission to her allegation in 2016 while campaigning for president, telling The New York Times that Trump allegedly groped her on a trip to New York.
She apparently further detailed the alleged rape in 2023 during the national trial of author E. Jean Carroll, describing a shocking picture:” He was grabbing my chest… It was a tug-of-war between us two.
York also shared a after meeting with Trump that he allegedly made fun of with the statement,” I remember you. You’re that twat from the flight”. She described this as a humiliating encounter.
Trump, but, strongly denied always knowing Yorkshire and dismissed her claims. ” Consider of the implausibility of this”, he argued. ” I’m prominent, I’m in a helicopter, and I grab her and began kissing her? What are the chances of that happening? And frankly, I know you’re going to say it’s a terrible thing to say, but it could n’t have happened. It did n’t happen”.
Trump also made the suggestion that the claims were politically motivated, noting that” this is a terrible case… It’s shameful in particular because it’s about a former US president who is now leading in the surveys to be the leader again,” as is the case with the DOJ, as is the case with all of these situations.
The stark contrast between Trump’s denial and Leeds ‘ detailed account is continuing to stoke a contentious public debate as both sides prepare for further developments.
