After Taylor Swift officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election, Elon Musk just found himself in the limelight. Following Swift’s high-profile support for Harris, Musk playfully responded on X ( formerly Twitter ) with the comment,” Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life”.
Swift’s political stance and Musk’s modest acknowledgement of her social influence were immediately praised for the remark’s swift popular success.
Swift has previously supported liberal causes and Democratic candidates. However, Musk, who regularly engages in political discussion on X, seemed to comically concede to Swift’s effective influence, especially among her passionate fans known as” Swifties”. Musk’s post appeared to understand the influence Swift holds, especially with younger decades, in shaping public opinion.
Swift’s confirmation came shortly after the US national conversation, with the song posting on Instagram,” I will be casting my voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 National Election”. She addressed her 283 million followers to explain her opinion of the debate, saying,” I’m voting for @kamalaharris because I believe we need a hero to fight for the right and causes that we love to hero.”
This support comes in response to a discussion involving artificially generated images that falsely portray Swift and her supporters as Trump supporters. Swift took the opportunity to target the consequences of propaganda, especially fueled by artificial intelligence. ” It definitely conjured up my anxieties around AI, and the consequences of spreading misinformation”, she noted, explaining her decision to formally declare her social position.
