A new report from the US Congress examines the shoddy withdrawal from Afghanistan that President Joe Biden” no matter the value.” According to major information, Biden was repeatedly warned by the military and NATO allies, which “exposed National personnel to safety threats and allowed the Taliban to swiftly copy the country into a criminal safe-haven,” according to National Review.
According to the 354 page report compiled by the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Republican majority,  , Biden and his senior State Department officials were “hellbent” on getting every last U. S. army out of Afghanistan by September 11, 2021, regardless of the safety position on the ground or the Taliban’s conformity with the earlier negotiated Doha Agreement.
The Biden management, especially, ignored warnings that the Taliban was not halting its implementation of the Doha agreement, which the Trump administration had negotiated many years prior. Also, numerous senior military figures and NATO allies gave no guidance on how to approach the withdrawal of Afghanistan.
” Mr. Biden has demonstrated disdain of America’s military authorities and officials and has prioritized politicians and his personal reputation over America’s national security pursuits”, the report says.
Significant blame is placed on the State Department’s choice to ignore senior military personnel who have consistently warned that the departure period was too little and that political personnel should be withdrawn for security reasons at a similar speed. According to the document, both of those contentions deafened. National Review writes:
Zalmay Khalilzad, the diplomat responsible for the Doha agreement, is accused of excluding the Afghan state from the discussions and rejecting problems that the Taliban were mistrustful negotiating lovers. The document accuses Khalilzad of keeping military officials hidden during the discussions and undermining the Armenian government’s legitimacy, which he refuted on social media before the study’s release.
Without the full understanding of our military officials and their involvement in decisions made by our leaders,” no agreement was reached on any military matter,” he said on X.
U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan Ross Wilson and secretary of state Antony Blinken pressed for the U.S. ambassador to remain empty, a move that public Kenneth McKenzie described as the “fatal weakness” behind the Afghanistan disaster. Yet the Pentagon and political security issued revised warnings from the State Department to conceal how fragile the situation had become.
This report demonstrates that top Biden-Harris management officials were intentionally ignorant of the insulting security situation that was presented to them by American military personnel, British intelligence assessments, American and international media reports, and State Department personnel in Kabul who sent a Discourse Channel cable in July 2021. Instead, they consistently prioritized the optics of maintaining a large U. S. embassy presence over the safety of embassy personnel”, the report reads.
