No one will have a day off from work on September 17th, there are n’t any furniture sales, and the likelihood of spawning a viral TikTok about the separation of powers and federalism is appallingly low. Constitution Day will likely pass with little fanfare. Americans should realize that it should n’t just the children who matter when we start tormenting us about” these kids today”

The&nbsp, New York Times&nbsp, recently published an article entitled,” America’s Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Hazardous”? A straightforward “no” might be enough, but a big media outlet in this country’s ability to ask the question is indicative of a national apathy toward the country’s fundamental base. The only issue with the Constitution is that most people are ignorant of its principles and, as a result, that too many representatives are elected without any regard for them. As the prophet Hosea lamented of the Israelites,” My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”.

Of course, the Constitution is no holy writ. Americans cannot reasonably hope to” protected the gifts of liberty for ourselves and our humanity” without understanding and adhering to the law that makes it all possible, just as the riches of the Israelites fluctuated and fluctuated in relationship with their transition from ignorance and devotion to ignorance and defection.

How can the contract be justly enforced if neither group understands or respects it if the Constitution is seen as a contract between the regulating and the governed? If” we the folks” are unable to defend the Constitution, therefore the Constitution is unable to support us.

President Ronald Reagan, speaking of his political opponents, once joked,” It’s not that they’re ignorant, it’s just that they know so much that is n’t so”. Perhaps the only threat to liberty equivalent to no knowing what is in the Constitution is “knowing” items that&nbsp, are no in&nbsp, the Constitution.

The First Amendment’s right to free speech is frequently criticized by experts and politicians, including Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, as being incompatible with statement that some may find unpleasant. Subverting one adult’s right to speak to another’s delicate personal views eventually leads to calling for the government to silence the “offending” group. This so-called “hate talk different” is lawfully fictitious.

It’s also a risky move down a well-worn journey to dictatorship, cloaked in the facade of politics. According to history, when those in power have the authority to decide which statement is deserving of protection, it is usually the first thing that is deemed worthless.

Our owners, though far from ideal, were among the great thoughts of their creation. They were students of history, philosophy, and faith. Their deep appreciation of the fallen nature of man led to their disdain of consolidated power and the majority’s tyranny, which true democracy can atone for. They sought to create a law that may restrict the federal government’s authority to a few essentials that ought to remain constant throughout the country and acknowledge the hegemony of the state in all other areas of American life.

The Ninth and Tenth Amendments serve as an exclamation point for the American persons and the rest of the world to know that the national architecture in this state is meant to safeguard the people’s God-given rights. Our written Constitution exists to prevent the power to protect from being twisted into the strength to defame the people’s right.

The&nbsp, New York Times&nbsp, asked a question about the Constitution that the file itself answers. But there are much more important issues. One worth considering is whether the founders did look at the size of our current federal government, the unaccountable and unaccountable third branch that makes up our administrative state, and how far most daily activities in America are nontaxable or uncontrolled by one government official or another, and wonder how we strayed so far from their vision.

Why more Americans do n’t wonder the same thing is a question that is even more crucial. For over 200 years, through war abroad and at home, our country and our Constitution have endured. Our willingness to make every moment Constitution Day is the determining factor in our desire that both will proceed to do so.
