The founding fathers signed that ancient and priceless record in 1787, which served as the foundation of our constitutional republic, on this day, as commemorated Constitution Day.

America has come a long way since the 18th century, but we are also in serious risk of completely destroying the state our forebears fought so hard to establish. A state, if you can keep it, is what Franklin, the chairman, said to a lady who was curious about the form of government the Constitutional Convention had chosen. We may consider ourselves if we are determined to keep it this Constitution Day.

Below is the popular Prologue to the Constitution:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Righteousness, insure home Serenity, provide for the common army, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Independence to ourselves and our Posterity, do appoint and create this Constitution for the United States of America.

Nothing that men created was ever perfect, so the constitution was not perfect. For instance, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and their allies regretted that more had not been done in the Constitution toward an end of slavery ( though, as former slave and orator Frederick Douglass noted, slavery could have been abolished without changing the Constitution, which he called a “glorious liberty document” ).

That was not the only dread. Founder George Mason was not satisfied with the 1787 Constitution, but his vision for a Bill of Rights was quickly realized ( thanks also to James Madison ), protecting such divine right as freedom of speech, religion, the media, a quick test, and bearing arms.

But, despite the initial errors, we can say eagerly along with Frederick Douglass that the U. S. Constitution is a “glorious rights document”, a work of genius that has not been equaled in past.

From the National Constitution Center, about this trip:

Americans observe the filing of the Constitution on September 1st through two officially recognized holidays, Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. But how did these events combine]? ] … Early]1900s ] Constitution Day celebrations were observed by some fraternal organizations … Constitution Day activities became widely adopted at a grassroots level…

A individual initiative in the late 1930s created what would later become Citizenship Day. The event took place on the second May Sunday, and perhaps the biggest event took place on May 21, 1944. In New York’s Central Park, 1.5 million persons gathered to celebrate Constitution Week, which was later changed to Sept. 17 as the bill was signed in 1952.

The trip was given its current position in 2004 as a result of a Parliamentary bill.

However, our Constitution is currently being ignored or constantly attacked. Given that Democrats have happily violated the Constitution in different ways since Andrew Jackson’s period up to the present day, it should not come as a surprise that the Democrat Party is the main party attacking the Constitution. However, it is shocking how viciously and profoundly Democrats are subverting our most precious constitutional rights, with the assistance of some unpatriotic Republicans.

Let’s make it clear that they wo n’t succeed, and that the upcoming Constitution Day will be remembered as a day of celebration under a new administration and amid a revival of the nation’s patriotic spirit.
