Gov. The Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua poses significant threats to the United States, according to Greg Abbott (R-TX ) and Ron Johnson (R-WI ).
On Fox News ‘ Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Abbott stated,” There are bases bases in New York and other states across the country, and now even including Texas.” ” My top priority is to ensure that we protect our own Texans, and so I designated this group as a foreign terrorist organization and organized our anti-gang products throughout the entire state of Texas so that law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels prioritize this party, discover them, find out them, assault them, and place them in prison so that TDA will get their activities elsewhere,” reads the statement.
Abbott and Vice President Kamala Harris in the Oval Office discussed how the country’s border crisis would look as they discussed how illegal immigration would be eliminated and how President Joe Biden’s criticized border policy “looks good.” Since becoming the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential candidate, Harris has made an effort to rebuild her reputation along the border.
Johnson also joined Sunday Morning Futures to detail the lasting impacts of the Biden administration’s handling of illegal immigration, arguing gangs could be” the longest-term threat”. He explained how gangs in Central America extort police to make it more difficult to dethrone the gangs.
” Again, these are the types of crimes, they will burrow into communities, they will intimidate law enforcement, they will intimidate the individuals, and they will be very difficult to root out”, Johnson said. ” So again, we have major problems because the Biden-Harris open border policy and, again, these crimes are going to be occurring for years to come. Right now, we are seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Tren de Aragua was made a transnational criminal organization in July by the Biden administration following requests from Republicans who claimed the group’s members had crossed the southern border. Nearly 700, 000 Venezuelan citizens have been encountered at the southern border since Biden took office in January 2021.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX ), whose district borders 40 % of the border, is one of the people who has expressed concern about the Tren de Aragua. Gonzalez claimed that the Venezuelan gang “looks like Boy Scouts” and the Salvadoran gang MS-13 “looks like that.”
