According to court files released by federal prosecution on Monday, Ryan Routh, 58, a man accused of plotting to attack former president Donald Trump earlier this month, reportedly penned a word months in advance detailing his plan to kill Trump. The notice, intended for an unknown person, disclosed Routh’s purpose to carry out the execution while Trump was golfing at his Mar-a-Lago hotel in southern Florida.
According to National Review, Lawyers discovered that Routh wrote a text” to the world” on Monday in case his attempt to kill Trump failed. In this email, Routh officially expressed regret, creating,” This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I put forth all I could summon and gave it my all. I did provide$ 150, 000 to anyone who can finish the job, so it is up to you right away to complete it.
In a self-published statement, Routh called on Iran to eliminate Trump and expressed regret for his past support of the previous president, and in his word, Routh even described Trump as morally unfit to become president. As part of their research, the FBI reviewed certain sections of this statement.
Routh’s political donations and social media history suggest that he underwent a major intellectual shift. When a Trump supporter, he eventually became a zealous Democrat. His online action revealed a growing focus on global issues, especially Ukraine. Also making an effort to recruit volunteers to fight for Ukraine, Routh also attempted to interview reporters for the mainstream media.
A Secret Service agent discovered Routh’s weapons hidden in the trees of Trump’s golf course on September 15th, which set off his story. Before Routh may fire a photo, the representative opened fire, forcing Routh to escape. Soon afterwards, law enforcement assisted him in getting him arrested. Authorities found a loaded SKS-style weapons equipped with a context, a digital cameras, and two sacks at the field.
Phone records indicate that Routh had been monitoring Trump’s golf lessons for 12 days prior to the attempted assassination. Investigators used a thumbprint on a piece of tape that was found next to the rifle to identify Routh as the gun’s user. A research of his car uncovered six phones, information about joining the war in Ukraine, and a list of Trump’s scheduled people images.
National prosecutors are arguing that Routh should be imprisoned while he is awaiting trial, citing both the meticulous planning of his plan and the thorough planning he had in his information. The FBI is looking into whether Routh had any other programs or just acting by himself. Additionally, it was made clear by the prosecution that Routh had a criminal history and had formerly been charged with illegally possessing a firearm.
