Julie Hartman, a 24-year-old woman with whom I do a weekly podcast (” Dennis &, Julie” ), described the anti-Israel world perfectly: A vast number of people suffer from Israel Derangement Syndrome.

The explanation, of course, is based on the commonly cited” Trump Derangement Syndrome,” which Democratic Party and Vice President Kamala Harris supporters denigrate as absurd. Though I voted for former President Donald Trump and thought he was a very good, at times excellent, leader, I always used that phrase during the four decades of the Trump administration. I did not believe that Trump’s opposition to him was inevitably the result of internal disease.  ,
Gradually, however, I changed my mind. I came to believe that many Trump hatred was rooted in psychology, no moral argument. This was especially true for liberals who” Not Trumpers” became. Given that the Left has essentially taken control of the once liberal Democratic Party and that the Left poses the greatest threat to freedom and the overall National experiment since the Civil War, the only plausible explanation for a conservative’s preference for a leftist over Trump had to be psychological.
Whether or not one subscribes to the existence of a Trump Derangement Syndrome, “derangement syndrome” perfectly explains support for Hamas and the Palestinians ( at this time, the two are largely the same, just as” Nazis” and” Germans” were largely the same, and therefore used interchangeably, during World War II ).  ,
In a column titled” Israel’s Pager Bombs Have No Place in a Only War” by Michael Walzer, a professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, the New York Times published a perfect illustration of Israel Derangement Syndrome.

As is well known, next year, pagers used by Hezbollah jihadists exploded, killing a handful of them and wounding thousands more. Extremely appropriate, the exploding pagers killed very few soldiers.  ,
Hezbollah is the Sunni Hamas in Gaza and is the equal of Shiite and Lebanese. Like Hamas, Hezbollah has one goal: to eliminate as many Israelis as possible and eradicate the Israeli state. In an effort to eliminate as many Jewish residents as possible, Hezbollah has fired more than 8, 000 missiles into Israel. Tens of thousands of Israelis have left their homes in northern Israel and have n’t returned for almost a year.
The fact that Israel is being attacked for killing Hezbollah extremists demonstrates that, in the eyes of the social, media, and intellectual left, as well as Muslims in the West, Israel is not permitted to stand up for itself. It should be clear by now that Israel’s current hostility toward it stems not from Israel’s bombing of Gaza. Israel is extremely deplorable when it targets Hezbollah extremists, and just Hezbollah terrorists.
Which brings me to Walzer’s Times row.  ,
According to Walzer,” the explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday were extremely good war crimes– criminal attacks by a state that has constantly condemned terrorist attacks against its own citizens.”
” Yes, the products were most likely being used by Hezbollah members for military purposes. They might become a reasonable goal in the ongoing Israeli-Hezbollah cross-border battles. But the episodes… came when the employees were no operating, they had not been mobilized and they were never physically engaged…. Companions of Israel should be clear when they say,” This was not straight.”

According to Professor Walzer, jihadists can only be killed when they are” operating,”” organized “or” military engaged. ” If they are not doing so, it is a” war violence” to remove them. Further, the simple fact that these Hezbollah people were operating, according to the doctor, implies that these terrorists were” using those pagesrs. ” That’s why they had them: to plan and carry out functions against Israel.
That, dear readers, is disorder.
