In her first television interview in more than two decades, Melania Trump shared her knowledge of the two murders that occurred in her husband’s career.
In an exclusive interview with” Fox &, Friends”, Melania recounted watching the footage of the first attempt, which took place at a mid-July march in Butler, Pennsylvania, on television just a few days after it occurred. ” I ran to the TV and I]rewound ] it and I watched it”, she said.
” I did n’t really see]it ] live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a few minutes later. But when I saw it, I, you know, it was only… Nothing definitely knew already. Because when you see him on the floor, and you do n’t know, you do n’t know what really happened”, she added.
The would-be killer, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired several shots at the previous leader from a rooftop about 130 miles away before being fatally shot by a counter-sniper.
On September 15, Melania was in New York City and her father was playing golf at his West Palm Beach team when the next assassination attempt took place. She instantly called to check on him after seeing it on tv. ” I saw it on the television and as soon as I saw it on tv, I called repeatedly, and he was OK because Secret Service were great”, she said, praising the group’s great job. She believes both occurrences were mysteries, considering the adjacent names.
” The people that they were, the group, they were great. And I think both of the situations, they were actually mysteries. If you really think about it, July 13th was a revelation. How… like that little, and he could, you know, he could not be with us”, she added.
Ahead of the launch of her self-titled autobiography,” Melania”, in early October, the former first lady has been sharing a series of videos on social media.
She questioned why law enforcement did n’t assault the gunman before the conversation in a September 10 videos posted to X, suggesting that more information about the incident needs to be found out.
The first public hearing of the republican Trump death try task force will be held on Thursday, where they will discuss security issues that led to the nearly assassination of a former president and current political candidate.
