Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis. ) has demanded an investigation after the city of Madison, Wisconsin, mistakingly sent out 2, 215 duplicate absentee ballots across 10 city wards.

On Tuesday, the Republican member released a speech on X, originally tweets, saying,” The City of Madison secretary said the duplicate&nbsp, absent ballots&nbsp, were sent to one hospital yesterday. Today, they say it’s 10. There needs to be an independent investigation now, not after the election” .&nbsp,

Tiffany sent a letter on Tuesday to Maribeth Witzel-Behl, the city clerk, demanding that the town provide” accountability” regarding the information that 2, 215 record absentee ballots were distributed to 10 area rooms. The representative from Wisconsin emphasized the need for accountability given” the history of questionable and dubious election techniques carried out by&nbsp, Madison officials&nbsp, in the past.”

Citizens need accurate information about the whole scope of this error, how the town intends to restore public confidence in its ability to handle the election, and claims that those concerned are held accountable, Tiffany told the city clerk.

Tiffany emphasized in a statement to Fox News that the duplicate absentee ballot problem” ca n’t just be swept under the rug.” He added,” The people responsible for this need to be held accountable” .&nbsp,

According to KWOW, the vote matter was described as a “human problem” by Deputy Clerk of the City of Madison, Jim Verbick.

The system would n’t allow the duplicate ballots to be processed twice because the duplicate ballots have identical bar codes, according to the clerk’s office. The clerk’s office added that a politician’s vote is scanned when an absentee ballot is displayed in the city’s election records, which may prevent the voting from casting a second ballot.

Dylan Brogan, a capital director, told Fox News that once the vote mistake was made, the principal’s office “moved quickly to solve the problem and comfort voters”. Despite the vote matter, Brogan claimed there was” NO chance of a record absentee ballot being counted.”

Additionally, city officials asserted that the ballot mistake resulted from the merging of two similar files, which resulted in a list of record names and addresses.

According to Verbick,” about 3, 000 voters all use the same poll design,” we had to break it down into two distinct files to fit that range, given the restrictions on the files we may remove from the registration system. ” We tried to combine the two, and otherwise, one of them got copied instead of combined”.
