Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif. ) signed a bill that offers an official apology to blacks for slavery and centuries of discrimination.

One of the recommendations made by a committee Newsom established to look into the issue of reparations and other measures that the condition can take to make amends for slavery was the explanation.

” Healing can simply start with an apology”, said Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer, who authored the explanation act, in a speech. California acknowledges its previous deeds and is taking the brave step of correcting them, noting that racially motivated punitive legislation have harmed Black people’s ability to pursue life, liberty, and joy.

Apologize for servitude and prejudice? By all means, go away. Slavery was an aberration, but who was responsible for bringing it to the shores of North America? The Dutch? The English? The French? The compensation movement wants to punish a particular race of people, a social form of oppression that is incredibly anti-American.

And if we’re going to get apologizing for prejudice, why stop at discrimination against blacks? The list is a long one: ( in order ) Germans, Irish, Chinese, Italians, Russians, Slavs, and that just takes us to the early 20th century. &nbsp,

Apologies are unnecessary. They are an exercise in social electricity, no more. They do n’t make anyone feel better, nor do apologies “heal” anything. They are blatantly American bribery by one group of Americans against another in terms of money and emotions.

    Politico:

Legislators did not advance a request for funds reparations, but the Congressional Black Caucus used the lots of recommendations from that statement to create legislation. Members of the Caucus anticipate spending decades drafting those ideas into law.

Additionally, the government approved legislation that would allow people to access the list of books that the condition Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has prohibited while serving time in prison. This would also help to prevent discrimination against Californians due to their hairstyle or appearance.

The legislation, according to Black Caucus Chair Lori Wilson, is” a substantial foundation to target the ancient hardships faced by Black Californians.”

I do n’t understand how any formula or program that would compensate victims of past discrimination could possibly operate fairly. California State University received the full compensation controversy for review, including how to divide up any reparations payments.

They may be at it for a while.

However, think how much better charcoal Californians feel now that the condition has apologized. Some appreciative people glorify in Newsom’s sincere apology warms the heart.
