The Department of Education is investing nearly$ 2 million to research the “emancipation” of LGBT teenagers.

According to the offer, the participating GSAs may meet and plan activities to “guild students to reflect on and develop self-awareness around their identities” and “facilitate activity to increase LGBTQ+ attention and affirmation in the school or community.”
Poteat stated via email to The College Fix that his job and the lessons of the Catholic Church are in harmony.
” I do not recognize as Catholic”, Poteat said via email.
He continued,” H owe I do think that this job and its objectives are in line with the Catholic Jesuit rules that are most clearly stated in the mission statement of our School of Education and Human Development at Boston College.”
These principles, as quoted by Poteat, are” to improve the individual situation, increase the individual thoughts, and make the world more only”.
” Some LGBTQ+ kids contend with illegal learning conditions in school”, Poteat told The Fix. ” Those who experience exclusion record higher school avoidance, lower report cards scores, and lower intentions to finish high school,” says one report.
“LGBTQ+ junior need tailored treatments to target their specific requirements, build upon their advantages, and promote good social-emotional and intellectual outcomes”, he said.
Poteat’s earlier function has been primarily focused on this kind of job. His history highlights his research into “school-based encounters of sexual and gender majority youth youngsters” and LGBT clubs.

C. J. Doyle, senior director of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, had a different perspective on the job.
Doyle claimed that the site’s objectives were based on false presumptions regarding the difficulties Gay students are said to be facing. He called it “appalling”, but “unsurprising” Boston College may get involved with this job.

Doyle said that “unsafe environments” means “any institutional reluctance to uncritically and unhesitatingly affirm” the sexual choices of LGBT students.
LGBT “advocates”, Doyle said, want to” capture the American educational system” and “make it an organ of LGBTQ ideology and propaganda”.
