A barricaded self inside the Four Seasons Hotel and engaged in a fight-and-feed confrontation with the Atlanta Police Department and SWAT agents in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday.
In a Wednesday press release, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation ( GBI ) said it was conducting an investigation into an “officer-involved shooting” in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department responded to a record of a subject pointing a firearm at an individual at the Four Seasons Hotel, according to the initial information in a press release. A resident called the personal manager after finding out a issue had thrown objects into the 33rd ground hallway.
According to the media launch, the boss went to the ground and was confronted by 70-year-old Jay Berger, who pointed a gun at him. The hotel’s director alerted the police after returning to the ground surface.
When law enforcement officials arrived at the hotel, the 70-year-old barricaded himself inside his room. Patrol officers were requested and dispatched to the resort, according to the GBI.
” The subject began to fire a weapon into the corridor and into his room.” As rounds were fired through the rooms at Peshawar officers, one officer returned flames”, the GBI said in its media release. ” During the incident, one SWAT officer was hurt ( possibly with shrapnel ).” The issue then climbed onto his house balcony and began removing items from the balcony. A SWAT rifle fired at the content and struck him at some point during the meeting.
After breaking into the suspect’s room, the SWAT group managed to apprehend Berger. Berger was taken to a nearby hospital for health care, according to the GBI, and the suspect may be detained in the Fulton County jail after his release from the doctor.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum claimed Berger appeared to have had a mental heath problems and had engaged in an encounter with a hotel employee during a press conference on Tuesday. Berger is alleged to possess fired at least 15 photographs during the incident, according to Schierbaum to investigators.
” While the work were afoot, he began firing a tool”, Schierbaum stated. ” We believe he fired at least three different weapons, weapons, firearms and rifle, that fired through the windows”.
According to Fox News, the 70-year-old think is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault and foolish endangerment.
Law enforcement were filmed circling the resort during the conflict on Tuesday when Berger fired several shots.
