The legacy media rushed to Liz Cheney’s defence after past president Donald Trump criticized her for trying to entice Americans into battle, using Trump’s words to imply that she was being threatened with a firing squad.  ,
” She’s a radical warhawk. This place her with a shotgun, standing it with nine containers shooting at her, okay? When the weapons are trained on her mouth, let’s see how she feels about it. They’re all warhawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a great building saying,’ Gee, come give 10, 000 troops straight into the mouth of the foe,'” Trump said Thursday at a campaign event with Tucker Carlson.  ,
Trump blatantly claimed that Cheney wants Americans to expire in international wars. He pointed out she — and other D. C. leaders in the military-industrial complex — did not put themselves in the jobs they are placing the world’s soldiers.  ,
” I’d have discussions with a lot of people, and she always wanted to go to war with people”, Trump said.
But identity press, in normal type, cherry-picked Trump’s comments to make it appear he — no Cheney — was inciting crime.  ,
” Trump uses aggressive rhetoric to strike ‘ war bird ‘ Liz Cheney”, reads a headline from Good Morning America. During the show on Friday morning, the network attacked Trump and praised Harris.  ,
She claimed that Trump was using “increasing dark and violent language against his social adversaries.” She also suggested that Liz Cheney, former House Republican president, be put in the line of fire. However, another article from the present said Harris held a” star-studded protest in Las Vegas”.
Reuters pulled a similar ploy. The article reads,” Trump suggests Liz Cheney does face firing club for her unusual policy position.” The store omitted the rest of Trump’s comments, saying that” standing it with nine containers shooting at her” and “guns trained on her mouth.”
Tim Murtaugh, Trump’s communications chief, called the piece” 100 % fabricated crap” and” a lie”.
Trump obviously depicted Cheney as being deployed to a war zone ( even with her own rifle ). How’s that a ‘ firing squad’? ) only as she’s done to people”, Murtaugh posted to X.
From The New York Times to Newsweek, a simple Google search turns up several also deceptive takes from left-wing advertising. Trump claims that he “fantasizes about shooting a female competitor in the face” in a Daily Beast article.
Cheney immediately jumped on Trump’s notes, painting herself as a target.  ,
” This is how tyrants destroy free countries. They execute those who speak out against them with death,” Cheney wrote on X. ” We cannot leave our nation and our flexibility to a petty, vindictive, violent, unstable man who wants to be a dictator. # Womenwillnotbesilenced# VoteKamala”.
Never mind that Cheney would gladly give Americans to die in conflicts across the globe, while this presumed “dictator” wants to end all wars on the other side of the world and end all wars on the other side of the world.
Left-leaning press are deliberately spreading this deceptive view to criticize Trump, according to Mark Hemingway of The Federalist.
He also noted that the remaining has switched from defending Republicans from Republican criticism as alleged neocons and warmongers.  ,
” I lived through the Iraq war, and I’m sad, but then DEMOCRATS are outraged by the idea that wealthy lawmakers vote for war without having to bear the cost of fighting in them”? Hemingway published on X. ” That’s all they said about Republicans for about a generation”.
