Greek authorities have detained a 31-year-old man for his involvement in a deadly home-made bombing that left one person dead and severely injured a woman in an Athens apartment this week, according to police reports on Saturday.
The event, according to police officers, is linked to anti-establishment rebel groups. Officers opposed to terrorism believe the weapon was exploded while it was being made.
On Friday nights, the Greek gentleman who had been detained had given testimony regarding the case. He claimed to have shared the secrets of the apartment with the few involved in the blast but denied having any part in it.
After on Saturday, he is scheduled to show up before a counsel.
Following the destroying of its most deadly group,” November 17,” a number of left-wing and communist guerrilla groups have emerged in Greece over the past 20 years.
Smaller bomb and arson attacks against lawmakers, police, judges and companies were repeated during the region’s 2009-18 debt problems. They have declined in recent years, but they still exist.
