The calculating of the vote in the US election goes beyond election day, and the timing may vary from state to state. The US has four major time zones ( Eastern Time, Central, Mountain, and Pacific Standard Time ), and the election schedule is also unique among the time zones. Despite the election day on November 5 in some states, first election was permitted.
After the votes are cast, counting begins. Hand-printed paper ballots and ballots filled with BMD ( Ballot marking devices ) are compared using optical scanners and computer calculations are then done. After counting and calculation is full, says therefore have different time period to self-audit the benefits.
Results are anticipated to begin arriving shortly after the first polls close on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
