Security landscaping has been installed around the U. S. Capitol, the White House, and Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ mansion in Washington, D. C., away of Election Day.
The new surveillance fencing was put up on Sunday in response to any possible social unrest that Harris and former president Donald Trump might cause on Tuesday.
The Washington Post reported that while law enforcement authorities have no cited any reputable challenges in the area related to Tuesday’s election and while Washington’s police key told investigators there was” no need for any alarm”, the U. S. Secret Service installed eight-foot-high metal fencing around the complex of the White House and the Treasury Department, pieces of Lafayette Square, around the Naval Observatory, and the vice president’s home.

Law enforcement officials also reinstalled temporary restrictions with symptoms studying,” Police Line: Do not bridge”.

The Secret Service is installing additional security outside the convention center in West Palm Beach, Florida, where the former president is scheduled to hold his election watch party, according to The Washington Post.

According to the Secret Service,” The Secret Service is working closely with federal, state, and local partners in Washington, DC, and Palm Beach County, Florida, to ensure heightened levels of Election Day safety and security,” the Post reported. These improvements are a part of the broad-ranging public safety preparations for Tuesday’s election, according to the statement. They are not specific to any particular issue.
According to The Washington Post, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith announced last week that” as a precaution” in Washington, D.C.,” we need enough officers on the street and in every corner of the District” and that roughly 3,300 D.C. police officers will work 12-hour shifts throughout the election.
According to The Washington Post, area business owners and property owners have increased private security measures and strengthened street-level windows and entrances in anticipation of any potential rioting or looting following Election Day.
