Authorities in Tijuana claim that 500 bars and restaurants are unable to obtain the necessary permits and certificates to buy liquor and could be forced to close in the coming months.
Miguel Loza, chairman of the Sunglasses, Recreation and Alcohol Commission says at the very least, the institutions are facing huge fines.
” Those who do n’t follow the requirements or show up for official meetings with the city will have their operating licenses voided and will be unable to operate for the duration of their business,” Loza said.
He said there are more than 3, 800 effective certificates in the area, but 500 have no renewed their mandates, updated their papers or applied for a certificate.
We are attempting to create a procedure so that we can begin making plans for the actions to take against those who violate it in a month.
Loza claimed that as a result of the city’s extensive development, novel cafes, bars, and bars are opening up, the majority of the violations are occurring on the south side.
