Elections opened at 7 a. m. on Election Day in Pennsylvania, but not in Laflin Borough, in Luzerne County. The polls it opened at 8: 30, an afternoon and a half later.
In reaction, the Luzerne County Board of Elections went to court seeking agreement to expand voting days in Laflin, which is near Wilkes-Barre. The judge granted the request and set up the polling place for 90 more days before it ended at 9: 30 p.m.
The state joined forces with the express Republican Party in requesting an improvement from Luzerne County.
The court processing did not provide an explanation of why the voting place was delayed, citing only that the Board of Elections learned that “election officials failed to proper opened the polling place in Laughlin, which caused delays in the process of voting,” the judge filing said.
The judge of elections arrived later, according to local television station WNEP, and when the poll did suddenly opened, workers were unable to access the ballot sensor, leaving the first turnout to cast paper ballots.  ,  ,  ,

After the malfunctioning voting system applications, voting was extended in Cambria County as well. This caused much lines, and some citizens left before voting.
The program was down for hours and lacked functionality by the time Cambria’s jury filed the request for longer voting hours, according to Cambria’s request for longer voting hours.
The judge agreed to extend ballot until 10 p. m., but after 8 p. m. in Cambria, all vote will be temporary.  ,  ,  ,
A county official later discovered that the issue was a code on the side of the ballot that the scanner could n’t read. According to a speech Cambria County issued, the state distributed fresh votes to polling areas, and election was expected to continue as usual.
The speech read,” Those who have already voted, please be assured that said votes are secured.” The Election Board has adopted emergency procedures to make sure qualified people have followed the chain of custody to make sure that each ballot is secured and will be counted.
A county official stated that the ballots that could n’t be scanned will be kept in a lock box and manually weighed.
Election Day got off to a hard stop in another Pennsylvania regions, as Democratic poll watchers were turned away from polling locations in Philadelphia, York, Westmoreland, Allegheny, Lehigh, Cambria, Wyoming, and Lackawanna regions. The Republican National Committee intervened, and finally the court-appointed surveys observers were allowed to watch.  ,
Battleground Pennsylvania has 19 desired electoral votes, and both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have engaged in intense fighting.
Additionally, the state has the potential to re-elect a U.S. Senate desk that was previously held by Democrat Bob Casey Jr., who is facing Republican challenger Dave McCormick.
The Pennsylvania Department of State has been preparing voters for weeks so that they do n’t anticipate results on election night.
