Certain, “renowned Iowa researcher” J. Ann Selzer has been bad before. However, this kind of mismanagement in the poll industry can have a negative impact.  ,
Selzer’s stunning ballot that tracked the political views of Hawkeye State citizens a few days before the election ( and not just from her home paper and Democrat Party beg, the Des Moines Register ) grabbed a lot of articles. The Des Moines Register/Mediacom surveys conducted by Selzer showed Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrats ‘ alternative presidential candidate, leading former President Donald Trump, the GOP’s presidential nomination, by 3 percentage points ( 47 percent to 44 percent ) in deep crimson Iowa.  ,
It seemed stupid, because it was.  ,
Never Seeing Red ,
Less than two days after the country’s polls closed, The Associated Press called for Trump in Iowa. With an estimated 95 percent of the vote counted as of publication, Trump is clobbering by 14 percentage points ( 56.3 percent to 42.3 percent ), according to the Washington Post.
Trump won Iowa by almost 10 percent positions in 2016, and by about 8 points in 2020, according to The New York Times.  ,
While the “red storm” predicted ahead of the 2022 exams did not hit nationwide, it did reach Iowa. Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds easily won reelection, and Republicans seized control of all of the Hawkeye country’s House tickets.
The first-in-the-nation conference position demonstrated Republicans ‘ unwavering support for Trump for the better part of a very long time over the course of the year. In a tense Iowa congress, the former president won by about 30 points over his closest rival in the Democratic primary industry.  ,
Selzer and the Des Moines Register looked past all of that redness just days before the 2024 election, and they appear to have believed that the positive vibes and” joy” of the Harris campaign would be enough to restore Iowa to its blues.  ,
In a tale published on Saturday, the Des Moines Register declared that” Kamala Harris then leads Donald Trump in Iowa— a striking reversal for Democrats and Republicans who have almost certain to discount the country’s national contest as a particular Trump victory.”
” It’s difficult for anybody to say they saw this coming”, said Selzer, chairman of Selzer &, Co., according to the Register. ” She] Harris ] has clearly leaped into a leading position” . ,
Obviously, Harris had no.
‘ Monkey Wrench ‘
It’s not surprising that the Des Moines Register ballot was regularly snagged by corporate media suspects of election meddling just days before the 2024 election, with several outlets defending and perpetuating it.
Selzer “has a popularity for being very accurate when it comes to last minute elections with unexpected results,” according to Newsweek over the weekend.
Rick Klein, ABC News Washington bureau chief and social producer, thought the severe exception surveys threw a “monkey screw” into the last days of the campaign.  ,
In an ABC News article, Klein compared the Des Moines Register’s most recent surveys to “nay some people who think Donald Trump is going to instantly lose the position that he won by eight points to some of his supporters,” Klein said.  ,
But no one who knows anything about Iowa politics or has n’t been lobotomized saw Selzer’s numbers for what they were: garbage.  ,
Trump claimed the ballot was a form of voter” reduction” and that it” should remain illegal”, according to Newsweek. Today, he is the projected winner of the national election, and, probably of the popular vote — and Iowa remains a very dark position.
” Ann Selzer’s bad! The Des Moines Register’s bad! Donald Trump only won Iowa”! State Party Chair Jeff Kaufmann said at Iowa’s GOP election day watch party, the Register reported. Kaufmann reportedly said the outlandish outlier poll “energized Republicans” . ,
She’s been bad earlier. According to the Register, in 2004, the Iowa Poll showed Democrat John Kerry to be away of Republican President George W. Bush by a margin of 5 percent points. Although Bush won in Iowa, Selzer has had a very strong campaign for some election phases.  ,
Not this one.
Selzer promised to “review her data” to discover why it was” so far out of line with past president Donald Trump’s spectacular victory,” the Register reported Tuesday night .
” Now, I’m of course thinking about how we got where we are”, Selzer said in a statement, according to the store.  ,
