In the current Congress, there are now six American Americans who have won elections to the House of Representatives, increasing their total to five from five.
Suhas Subramanyam, an Indian-American attorney, became the first person to represent Virginia and the East Coast in the record books. He defeated Republican Party candidate Mike Clancy. He is presently a senator from Virginia.
As Amish Shah, who leads his Republican opponent in the first Parliamentary region of Arizona, is in a slim lead, there is a chance that there will be an additional seven American Americans in the House of Representatives.
The citizens of Virginia’s 10th area have given me the confidence to take on the most difficult conflicts and get results in Congress, said Subramanyam, who had formerly served as a White House assistant to President Barack Obama. He is a popular Hindu among Indian Americans throughout the country.
He joins the’ Samosa Caucus’ in Congress that now comprises five Indian Americans- Ami Bera, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ro Khanna, Pramila Jayapal and Shri Thanedar. All the five existing Hindu American people were re-elected to the House of Representatives.
For the next time in a row, Shri Thanedar was elected to Michigan’s 13th Congressional area. In 2023, he won it for the first day. For the second time in a row, Raja Krishnamoorthi won the sixth Congressional region of Illinois. While the fights for control of the White House and Congress continue to be near, I feel honored that the citizens of Illinois ‘ 8th District have chosen to support me in Congress, Krishnamoorthi said.
Ro Khanna, representing California’s 17th Congressional District, and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, from Washington’s 7th Congressional District, even retained their seats in the House. Dr. Ami Bera, a doctor by profession, has been the most senior-ranking Californian congressman since 2013 and represents the fifth Congressional District. For the sixth time in a row, he was reelected.
In Arizona, Democrat Shah was somewhat away of his Republican Party’s former David Schweikett. He has 132, 712 seats as against his opponent’s 128, 606 seats when 63 % of the votes were counted.
